DES MOINES, Iowa —Lance Armstrong is coming back to Iowa.
The Des Moines Register is reporting that Armstrong will participate in this year's RAGBRAI.
Earlier this year, Armstrong was in damage control mode after he admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs and apologizing in an interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Now, the seven-time Tour de France winner will be back for his fifth visit to RAGBRAI.
The newspaper is reporting that this would mark his first major public appearance since his admission to Oprah in January.
The paper also says he won't be here for one day, like he has in the past. Armstrong plans to ride for a few days, starting in Council Bluffs.
He also told the Register that he doesn't want any special treatment, and that he's like everybody else who likes to ride bikes and drink beer, and has made his fair share of mistakes.
