As we enter the cyclocross season, there are many great events in Iowa. All Cyclocross events can be found at BIKEIOWA.com/Cross. We will try an feature each event in detail, plus post photos, recaps and results after each race.

The BIKEIOWA Race Team's flagship event is Oakley Night Cap Cross on Saturday October 19th at Mullets near downtown Des Moines (down by the river...). Oakley Night Cap Cross was voted the "Best Cyclocross Race in the State" by Momentum Magazine in 2012.

The race has a great urban vibe as racers race across the green-space surrounding Mullets. The course is tight, twisty and fast and spectators line pretty much every bit of it cheering and heckling. The races start at 5:00pm with the last race at 10-11:00pm. Live music (bands announced soon) will be playing all night long under the lights of the Des Moines skyline.

If you enjoyed last three year's events... then you are in for a treat this year! We've had more time to streamline and plan, and we know what the SPECTATORS like! You absolutely LOVE the bands in the MIDDLE of the race course. We'll have more lights, a bigger beer garden, the mini-expo will increase, we've added more bicycle parking, and Mullets will be offering up some great beer and food specials.
